You've been fantastic in your support and understanding of some of the changes we've made in order to continue to operate during the last few years. Some of the challenges have led to fantastic opportunities to rethink how we deliver our service.
One welcome change is that we're now able to accommodate coached groups to visit the centre again. We've also set up customer accounts so that you can register once and won't have to fill in your details every time you book a date - hopefully this will save you time and make booking your place simpler. It is now possible to book multiple paddlers on under the same lead name.
Another great change is that we will be making more spaces available. We have gradually allocated more places every week as we feel we can allow more people on the site for our 2022 season. Not only does this mean more of us get to paddle, but also that we hope it will be rare that we get fully booked so no-one will have to miss out.
We have opened the changing rooms and showers further up the site, separate to those the rafters use. The kayak shuttle will remain for boats only. We will continue to make places available to book once a water release has been confirmed.
Have a read through the new information below so that you're ready when the water is ready!
Adult: £20.00 per person, per day.
National Governing Body members who can prove membership, pay only £13.00 per person.
Junior (under 18 years old): £13.00 per person, per day.
Junior National Governing Body members who can prove membership, pay only £6.50 per person.
Everyone wishing to use the site must book themselves and pay online. You can book by following the links to the right hand side.
Upon booking you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of Use (see below).
Click here if you're a regular visitor so that you don't have to fill in your details every time you book. This will be faster and easier for you to book your place and means you can view all of your bookings.
On weekends, showers and toilets are located in the middle centre - please use hand sanitiser provided before entering and upon leaving the building.
On quiet midweek days, toilets will be located in the main centre.
All boats will be left unattended at the top of the river. It shuttle bus will run from the main centre to the top of the river as normal. When you book, you will agree to the following terms and conditions relating to the boat shuttle service:
-The shuttle service will be for boats only (you will have to walk up to meet your boat at the top).
-Boats will be unloaded and left unattended at the top of the river (to allow the driver to continue shuttling boats).
-Paddlers should be aware and accept that using the shuttle trailer may result in wear and tear on boats.
-All paddlers using the shuttle will be asked to show the drivers they have signed in (by showing a valid wristband).
-The bus driver is responsible for determining when the trailer is full and securing the load.
-Please load your own boat onto the trailer.
-We will aim to run a boat shuttle every 30 minutes from 9am until 4pm. Please be understanding in the event of short waits.
-On occasions, demand for shuttles may exceed space in the trailer; in this instance the driver will make additional runs.
All parking for paddling will be in the middle car park or the top car park.
The main centre car park and opposite layby will be reserved for people needing access to the centre.
Anyone wishing to paddle the lower river can either park in the middle car park and walk/paddle down or park in the top car park and use the kayak shuttle to transport their boat and walk dow nto meet it at the centre.
We will have first aid cover as normal but we ask that you help keep our staff as safe as possible and tend to any minor injuries yourself where possible.
We will be adding dates to book once we have had the water release confirmed by Natural Resources Wales.
This avoids the necessity for refunding/rearranging bookings if/when water releases are cancelled.
Booking is only possible for 1 person at a time. This is because online booking has replaced our usual 'signing in' so by booking online and ticking the 'I have read, understood and agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions of Use' box, you are essentially 'signing in'.
We also need to collect names and contact information for every single person visiting the site for Track & Trace so please don't book for anyone other than yourself.
Your booking is for 1 day. You'll need to check the water release information for our specific opening times on your date.
We will be checking proof of membership for all reduced rate bookings. If you don't have a proof of your membership with you on the day, we will charge the extra cost to your payment card.
You can make a booking with your details but use the junior's name as the participant. This way, you are 'signing in' for them as you usually would but we know who to expect on the day.
