Our 2024 paddling season has properly begun,

welcome back!

WHAT'S NEW?

Berwyn

We have repurposed our Berwyn classroom as a lunch / meeting / hiding from the rain, dedicated paddler space. There are benches and tables, and coming soon, hot water, a vending machine and a whiteboard. Bring your own whiteboard pens, coffee, tea, milk and cups, Pot Noodle etc!

It’s got THE best river view. We hope you like it!

We have a new booking system!

As with any booking system there are always some things that are set, but we’ve really worked hard to make it as easy as possible to use.

What’s changed?

  • Facility fees are now bookable for the day, rather than the confusing last entry time!
  • NGB members will only be asked to provide proof of NGB once a year*.
  • Fewer steps, so a quicker booking process.
  • Anyone who relies on a carer to paddle here will now be able to book a carer place for free online – give pop in or give a call to set this up.

Inclusion

Inequality exists, it is a privilege not to have to think about disability, age, sex, gender, sexuality, or ethnicity. Canolfan Tryweryn is a place where everyone is welcome. We strive to allocate the resources and opportunities necessary for each individual to reach an equal outcome. We remain receptive to hearing of any additional adjustments we can make to help people.

As well as 'carers go free', we have a trolley at the get out steps to aid boat carrying. Please continue to make it known to the shuttle driver if you need a lift. Also, if you’re reading this, you might note that we use a dyslexic friendly font.

We always try to avoid making assumptions, as needs are individual, so please do come and talk to us!

More booking details if you want them.

If you’re an NGB Member, set up an NWWC ‘Membership ID’ (different to your NGB membership!). If you set this up before making your first (from this point) visit, then booking in will be really straightforward and will allow you to access your NGB rate. It will also mean that we can keep track of your NGB membership and won’t need to keep asking you for proof!

We look forward to seeing you on the water.

Happy Paddling!

There is a customary greeting on St. David's Day: Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus! This means “Happy St. David's Day!” and it's pronounced DEE-the goo-eel Dew-ee happ-iss.
